Progressive Muscle Relaxation

Progressive Muscle Relaxation (P.M.R.) is a ‘mind to body’ method of relaxation. The focus is on the muscles of the body. The processes is progressive, from the head through to the toes, taking a section of the body one step at a time. P.M.R. is used at the beginning of hypnosis therapy to prepare ‘you’ for a relaxing treatment. The therapist will talk you through each stage of your muscular body to gentle guide you into a more comfortable and restful state of both mind and body. The principle being that once your body is more relaxed and rested the more peaceful will be your state of mind.
